Not sure where you fit in at church?
Just like at Thanksgiving dinner, in church it can feel like we’ve been separated into tables…
You know how it is at Thanksgiving dinner, right? There is the kids table and the grown up table. Well, remember how exciting it was to be “called up” with the grown ups and then you sit down to dinner and mom, grandpa and slightly weird Aunt Edna are talking about stuff that just does NOT resonate with you? And now that you’re there you’re stuck! You don’t want to stay with the adults who are in a different stage of life but at the same time you don’t want to go back to the kids table because you’re wearing a new shirt and you don’t want cranberry sauce all over it from the inevitable food fight! You just wish there was an in between table you could go to that had all the same food but also had conversations relevant to where you now are in life.
That’s where Led By Fire comes in. Led By Fire is the Young Adult ministry at Lake Shore and is comprised of people representing a wide range of ages; from single college freshmen to married couples in their mid 20s. Led By Fire IS the in between table that you’ve been looking for.
Meeting 2 nights per week, Led By Fire offers a great chance to meet with others who you can relate to on a daily basis who are or have recently faced the same struggles, the same issues and who are possibly seeking the same answers you are. There is the opportunity to swim in the deeper waters of your faith through large group praise and worship as well as small group discussion and relevant bible and book studies.
If you’ve been looking for a group of people who simply do not judge but instead welcome those around them with open arms in Christ’s spirit, then this is the table you’ve been searching for.
